Forma offers a inhouse interior design service. Our staff have a wealth of knowledge and resources at their fingertips and relish the opportunity to help you find solutions for your home.
We charge $145 per hour for one of our Interior Design consultants to visit your home. They can help with furniture selection and placement, colour schemes, curtaining and accessories.
Should you purchase an upholstered sofa through our forma store, this consultancy is free to a maximum of 3 hours, any additional time beyond that is billable. Should you choose not to purchase one of our NZ designed and made sofas the entire time will be billed.
Our frame construction is unique, we have engineered a building process where we laminate ply and pine together to build the ultimate beam technology. Therefore we can build frames to very fine proportions. Where necessary frames are reinforced with construction steel.
The frame joints are glued, stapled and corner blocked and stress points are then screwed. All timber used is from a renewable source.
All forma sofa and chair seat cushions are supported by high quality Elastic webbing. The webbing is interwoven by hand, and stretched and stapled onto the framework, producing a superior suspension system.
All foam used is high density commercial grade. All foam is covered with compressed fibre to protect the foam from the fabric, and give the furniture the desired look of comfort and softness.
We use closed cell foam technology on most front edges of our frames.
We use the highest grade commercial foams with different layering grades to form the ultimate level of comfort.
Foam back cushions use hollow core technology to provide ultimate softness. Styles that use feather cushioning are hand stitched to prevent the feather fill sagging.
Feather cushions are a combination of feather and fibre balls wrapped around a central foam core, fully enclosed in a specialty feather fabric bag.
A 15 year frame construction guarantee and a 5 year workmanship guarantee is provided on all Forma upholstered furniture.
Forma provides a 2 year workmanship guarantee on all hard furniture.
A 10 year guarantee is provided by the foam supplier. Forma only uses high density commercial grade foam. Please note that all new foam can soften by up to 20% over time.
Fabric guarantees are supplied by the fabric supplier.
Regularly vacuum your sofas and chairs using an upholstery attachment to remove unwanted dust that can affect fabric quality. Always refer to your fabric care label for the appropriate cleaning instructions and consult a professional before cleaning. Have your sofas and chairs cleaned professionally once a year. Please note that leather and fabric cushions are likely to stretch and the manufacturer has no control over this. This is a natural occurrence and part of the natural aging process of the product.
As a company Forma has recycling practices in place, utilising paper and plastic recycle stations and re-using clear plastic where possible.
The timber used in our furniture frames is from re-newable resources. We supply the off cuts to the local community.
By purchasing a forma product, you are already making a choice to invest in the future by purchasing a sofa that is built for a life time.
